PARISA Projects
The George Gallery and Peter Anthony Fine Art will join for a unique, one-time exhibition in partnership with PARISA Projects, a California-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting artists living in the Middle East, primarily Iran, who are isolated from the international art world. The opening reception will be presented simultaneously at both galleries on Friday, October 2 from 5-7PM. The George Gallery is located at 54 Broad Street and Peter Anthony Fine Art at 15 Broad Street.
Founded seven years ago by Parisa Majidy, PARISA Projects grew from a personal passion for art collecting contemporary art to a dedicated cultural mission: bring depth, beauty, and complex narratives of the Middle Eastern contemporary art audiences to the United States and beyond. More than simply exhibiting artwork, the organization fosters genuine human connection by helping viewers understand the personal histories, quiet resilience, and artistic brilliance emerging from a region that is too often viewed solely through the lens of political conflict.
Many of the artists represented by PARISA Projects have little or no access to the internet, international galleries, or the global art market. Through exhibitions, education, and sales, the organization creates opportunities for these artists to share their work with audiences around the world while providing meaningful financial and professional support.
Voices from the Middle East offers Charleston audiences a rare opportunity to encounter artists whose work speaks with remarkable authenticity. Created amid ongoing political conflict and economic uncertainty, these paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media works stand as powerful expressions of hope, resilience, and humanity. Each piece invites viewers beyond the headlines, offering an intimate glimpse into lived experiences and demonstrating how creativity endures even in the face of isolation. Voices from the Middle East celebrates the resilience, creativity, and humanity of artists whose voices deserve to be seen and heard. Their work serves as a powerful reminder that artistic expression transcends borders and that creativity can endure even in the face of isolation.
Peter Anthony Fine Art is honored to present this series, which will be on view from October 2 through October 30.
